From myth to urban history: the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) hosts an exhibition exploring the long-standing relationship between the Siren Parthenope and the city of Naples. The show combines archaeology, history, cultural anthropology and contemporary expressions to illustrate how the Siren has shaped local identity.

The exhibition features over 250 works and artifacts, ranging from the 8th century B.C. to the present day, lent by prominent national and international collections. Key elements include:
A dedicated area focuses on the original inhabited site associated with Parthenope: reconstructions and previously unpublished materials illustrate urban development, rituals and traditions linked to the myth. Recent discoveries enrich the historical and archaeological story, highlighting the interplay between myth and city identity.
This exhibition offers a chance to rediscover Naples' cultural roots through its founding myth and to see how Parthenope continues to appear in art and collective memory.
