Palazzo Ciccozzi, located in the historic centre of L'Aquila, has reopened to the public through the efforts of Spazio Indipendenza, a hub for training and innovation. The 18th-century building, restored and refurbished, now hosts exhibitions and initiatives aimed at engaging both the local community and visitors during the city's year as Italy's Capital of Culture.
Among the current initiatives is the exhibition of works by painter and sculptor Generoso Spagnuolo, on display since 29 March 2026. The reopening coincided with the "Palazzi Aperti" event, allowing visitors to explore the artistic workshop and learn about the restoration work that revived this important historic site.
The palace is located on via Indipendenza, near Piazza Duomo. Access has been reinstated for visits and events; Spazio Indipendenza has stated it will host a cultural appointment each month in the coming period. Check the city's event calendar or the organisation's official channels for updated opening hours and participation details.
Note: the exhibition by Generoso Spagnuolo has been running since 29 March 2026; follow local announcements for special openings and new events.
