Palazzo Bonocore, a historic palace in central Palermo, will host two cultural meetings on 9 and 10 April 2026 focused on memory, public debate and contemporary modes of writing.

Thursday 9 April — Documenting the war in Ukraine

Time: 17:00. This session examines how digital tools and image production are reshaping conflict narratives, with emphasis on source reliability and the construction of collective memory.

• Main topics: source credibility, the role of images, shared memory.
• Reference material: the photobook 100 Days of War used as a case study for participatory documentation practices.
• Organisers and partners: academic institutions and human rights organisations involved in documentation and memory work.

Friday 10 April — "Women who write the present"

Time: 17:00. Launch of a new series devoted to contemporary female voices. The opening talk, titled The kiss and the word. Feelings, languages and imagination, brings together authors and scholars to discuss identity, intimacy and self-construction in current writing.

• Format: moderated conversation with writers and academics.
• Purpose: to develop the series into a lasting observatory on women’s experiences across publishing, film, theatre and new technologies.
