To mark Leonardo's birthday in April, Palazzo Falletti di Barolo hosts an evening that combines historical interpretation with live theatre. Visitors can see mechanical reconstructions inspired by Leonardo's Codices in operation and attend a performance focused on his life and ideas.
The exhibition features more than 50 mechanical models faithfully reconstructed from Leonardo’s notebooks. Built using period-inspired materials and techniques, these devices are demonstrated during the visit: from flying machines and hydraulic devices to complex engineering mechanisms that showcase Leonardo’s forward-looking ingenuity.
The evening continues with a theatrical piece in the Salone d’Onore, where an actor draws on Leonardo’s notes to bring the Renaissance voice to life, offering a contemporary interpretation of his views on nature, innovation and the future.
