Pablo Atchugarry — Sculpting Light

The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome hosts "Sculpting Light", a solo exhibition by Pablo Atchugarry curated by Gabriele Simongini. The show traces roughly thirty years of the artist's practice, with a focus on his sculptural work in Carrara marble.

Context and notes

Born in Montevideo in 1954 and living in Italy, Atchugarry approaches sculpture as a spiritual and formal pursuit. The exhibition pairs recent works with historical pieces, mapping the artist's relationship with Western sculptural traditions and diverse materials. Two catalogues published for the show provide critical essays and documentation of the installation.
