We Host the World: the Aeolian Islands unveil identity, memory and flavors

The Aeolian Islands present a coordinated promotion project titled "We Host the World. Identity, memory and flavors: the Aeolian Islands unveil their universal heritage." From 15 to 17 May 2026 the archipelago will host international and national journalists to showcase the UNESCO-recognized natural and cultural values to a global audience.

• Press participation: 18 international journalists and 15 national reporters, plus television crews.
• Goals: to narrate the UNESCO heritage of the Aeolian Islands, boost experiential tourism and support season extension.
• Stakeholders: restaurateurs, hoteliers, wineries and farms, maritime carriers and service companies, coordinated by Brand Eolie.

The programme combines cultural memory and identity routes with food and landscape experiences, allowing visitors to directly experience local culinary and cultural traditions. The initiative aims to convert media attention into sustainable tourism flows and strengthen the Aeolian Islands' position as an international destination.
