Record figures for Italy's historic estates

The 49th assembly of the Association of Italian Historic Houses (Adsi), titled "Private heritage, public value" and held at Teatro Argentina in Rome, highlighted the tangible contribution of historic estates to the national system across tourism, culture and agriculture.

• 46,000 private cultural assets nationwide, with nearly 30% located in municipalities under 5,000 inhabitants.
• 60% of the estates generate direct value through tourism, cultural activities and agriculture.
• In 2024 more than 35 million visitors, supported by over 20,000 public openings and events.
• 85% of maintenance interventions are self-funded, with an average annual expense above €50,000 per asset.
• Restoration investments: €1.2 billion in extraordinary interventions in 2024 and over €1.9 billion overall.
• More than 10,000 estates ready to expand activities if supported by a more favorable regulatory framework.

The assembly called for effective legislative tools and incentives to strengthen public-private collaboration and multiply the social and economic benefits of private heritage. The event also announced the winners of the 7th Adsi thesis award:
