Toscanini Festival 2026: summer series across Parma and its province

The Arturo Toscanini Foundation presents the 2026 edition of the Toscanini Festival, scheduled from June 21 to July 16. The event will involve Parma and several nearby municipalities — including Busseto, Montechiarugolo, Sala Baganza and Colorno — offering a programme that covers classical repertoire as well as jazz and film music.

• Opening: Saturday 21 June at the Tettoie Liberty of Parma's Parco della Musica, with a free concert by the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini and violinist Mihaela Costea (works by Mendelssohn and Vivaldi).
• Programme highlights: major symphonic appointments, including the project "Heroes, Atmospheres, Illuminations" conducted by Oleg Caetani.
• Toscanini Academy: performances featuring tributes to Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra and "Classico Pop" routes with sax ensembles and big band.
• Film music and premieres: projects with Federico Mondelci and chamber programmes at the Casa della Musica, including a world premiere by Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli.
• Special evenings: swing and American-style atmospheres at Rocca di Sala Baganza.
• Closing: Friday 16 July in Piazza Duomo, Parma, with the Filarmonica conducted by Robert Trevino performing "The Ring without words", Lorin Maazel's symphonic suite based on Wagner.

The festival, supported by main donor Fondazione Monteparma and local partners, aims to honour Arturo Toscanini's legacy by linking music with the historic venues of the territory.
