European Night of Museums 2026 at Sapienza

On Saturday, 23 May 2026, Sapienza University of Rome turns its campus into a public cultural hub: 17 museums open their doors with exhibitions, concerts, seminars and activities for families. Admission is free.

Highlights

• Museum of Etruscan and Italic Antiquities – opening of the exhibition "Etruscan Blue, Etruscan Gold" at 18:00, followed by an evening concert-performance combining archaeological narration and sound experimentation.
• Museum of Classical Art – exhibition "The Absent Calm: Peace and War in Ancient Greece" and a concert by the MuSa Blues ensemble in the Odeion Hall from 20:00.
• MLAC (Museum-Laboratory of Contemporary Art) – an Italian retrospective dedicated to Alì Assaf with a curator-led tour and documentary screening.
• History of Medicine Museum – interactive exhibition "Algorithms on the ward: From scalpel to machine learning" with installations and hands-on demonstrations.
• Physics Museum – themed route "Paths of Peace" highlighting scientists' contributions to disarmament and international cooperation.

Family activities

Child-oriented and natural science museums run workshops, treasure hunts, herbarium-making, casts and practical activities. Participating venues include the Museum of Origins, Zoology Museum, Herbarium Museum, MUST (University Museum of Earth Sciences) and the "Giuseppe Sergi" Anthropology Museum.
