Night of Museums in Catania: evening openings by the Archaeological Park (23 May 2026)

On Saturday 23 May 2026 the Archaeological and Landscape Park of Catania and the Aci Valley takes part in the Night of Museums, offering extended evening access to historic sites across the city. The Europe-wide initiative promotes greater public awareness of cultural heritage.

Evening visiting hours are as follows:

  • Hours: 20:00 - 23:00
  • Date: 23 May 2026

Sites open and admission conditions:

  • Terme dell’Indirizzo (Piazza Currò) – free entry
  • Terme della Rotonda (via della Mecca) – free entry
  • Church of San Francesco Borgia (via Crociferi) – free entry
  • Ancient Theatre (via Vittorio Emanuele) and Casa Libèrti – symbolic ticket €1

Visitors who wish to combine archaeology with music can attend a concert by the Coro Lirico Italiano “Vincenzo Bellini” at the Jesuit Church of San Francesco Borgia. Conducted by Maestro Pietro Valguarnera, the program includes works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, Franck and Saint-Saëns.

  • Concert: 19:30, free admission

Practical tips for visitors:

  • Arrive early to plan your route and make the most of the three-hour evening opening.
  • Bring a torch or use your phone light for dimly lit areas.
  • Follow site protection rules and staff instructions to help preserve the monuments.

The Archaeological Park's participation in the Night of Museums is an opportunity to explore Catania’s historical sites in the evening light and, for culture lovers, to enjoy archaeology and live music in the same evening.
