Malcesine in Flower 2026: the lakeside village becomes a large garden

From 22 to 24 May the historic centre of Malcesine and the Padre Mario Casella Gardens will be transformed into an open-air botanical trail. The floriculture event, extended to three days, brings together nurseries and plant enthusiasts from across Italy and showcases new collections of roses, seasonal bulbs and Mediterranean plants.

  • Dates and hours: 22–24 May 2026, continuous opening from 9:00 to 19:30.
  • Admission: free for visitors.
  • Location: Malcesine historic centre and Padre Mario Casella Gardens (Lake Garda, Verona shore).
  • Highlights: displays of antique, English and modern roses; ornamental citrus, olive trees and bougainvillea; collections of flower bulbs; succulents and specialized nurseries from Romagna, Tuscany and Lombardy.
  • Recommended for: gardening enthusiasts, plant collectors and anyone looking for Mediterranean-style ideas for terraces and gardens.

This edition focuses on specialist offerings: alongside traditional production there are rare varieties and options tailored to different flowering periods, with visitors able to select bulbs and plants according to bloom timing. Some exhibitors feature large thematic displays, with a notable emphasis on rose collections.

Practical tips: the village is charming but compact; to avoid crowds schedule visits in the morning or late afternoon. Prefer public transport or park outside the centre and walk into the historic streets. The narrow lanes and lakeside viewpoints provide pleasant spots to pause between stands.

Malcesine in Flower is a chance to explore the village’s urban and lakeside landscape while discovering a wide range of horticultural proposals from across Italy.
