Nettuno marks Liberation Day with a week of cultural and commemorative events

The Municipality of Nettuno has scheduled a week-long programme for Liberation Day featuring historical talks, readings, music and an exhibition at Forte Sangallo, aimed at fostering memory and civic engagement.

• 24 April, 17:30 — Municipal Library: "The War of Liberation: projects, hopes and visions of a generation in struggle" by Professor Andrea Marcellino.
• 25 April, 17:30 — Council Chamber: "Resistance Without Borders", organised by the cultural resistance association Baraonda, Collezioni Leonardi Maltese, with Francesca Rosati and Marta Jane Feroli.
• 26 April, 19:00 — Council Chamber: "Or ch’è liberata Roma" by Fogli Volanti, with ANPI Anzio and Nettuno, Circolo Gianni Bosio and SPI CGIL.
• 27 April, 17:30 — Council Chamber: "The Resistance of Women", featuring readings, music and historical materials.
• 29 April, 17:30 — Council Chamber: "Partisan Mattei and the struggle against the 'seven sisters'", organised by the Association for Twinning.
• 24–30 April — Forte Sangallo: solo exhibition "Che bel fior!" by painter Ilaria Sileno, weaving art and memory.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to Leda Cochi, a key figure in Nettuno's civic memory. The programme is promoted by Culture Councillor Roberto Imperato and Council President Roberto Alicandri, with contributions from local associations and the municipal Culture Office. Source: In Libera Uscita.
