Cinema Italia reopens in Cosenza: a cultural landmark

On April 16, 2026 the Cinema Italia, Cosenza's historic cine-theatre, was inaugurated after years of closure. The restoration involved both the building and the surrounding urban area to reintegrate the venue into the city's cultural network.

The renovation required additional municipal funds to address structural issues discovered during work. According to Mayor Franz Caruso, the reopening returns to the community a long-valued space for culture and leisure.
