'Musica sulle Apuane': a high-altitude festival through mid-September

The 14th edition of 'Musica sulle Apuane' is back. Organized by the CAI Massa Elso Biagi section together with the Alpi Apuane Regional Park and other CAI sections in Tuscany, the festival offers a program of free concerts, theatre and cultural events aimed at promoting the mountains and villages of the Massa-Carrara area.

Presented at Palazzo Binelli, the lineup started on April 25 and runs until mid-September, supported by local authorities and foundations. Key events include:

  • Saturday 13 June, 17:30 – Forno: Lamante, Giorgia Pietribiasi’s musical project, for the commemorations of the Nazi-fascist massacre.
  • Friday 17 July – San Giovanni Museum (Fivizzano): performance by students from the ‘Palma’ school.
  • Sunday 19 July, 18:00 – Monte Folgorito (Montignoso): “C’è la mia patria in quelle pietre” featuring actress Lella Costa.
  • Sunday 30 August, 16:00 – Pian della Fioba: Giovanni Sollima with young musicians.
  • Saturday 9 August, 15:30 – Campocecina: Patagarri with gypsy and swing sounds.
  • Mid-September – Bagnone, Teatro Quartiere: closing concert by the jazz trio Le Scat Noir.

All performances are free. The festival aims to foster cultural development, raise awareness of the Apuane mountains and support sustainable local tourism.
