Autore: Redazione 21/09/2025 11:12

The Diocesan and Chapter Museum of Terni is a place of deep spirituality and history, safeguarding the precious artistic and cultural heritage of the Diocese of Terni-Narni-Amelia. Located in a building adjacent to the Cathedral of Terni, the museum offers a path that goes beyond sacred art, telling the story of an entire territory through the lens of faith.

The Collection: Between Masterpieces and Devotion

The exhibition halls host a rich and varied collection spanning from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Among the most significant works are:

  • Paintings and Sculptures: An extensive selection of works by local and regional artists, reflecting the evolution of sacred art and its styles.
  • Manuscripts and Illuminated Codices: Precious historical and liturgical documents that testify to the deep cultural and religious traditions of the region.
  • Liturgical Objects and Sacred Vestments: Chalices, monstrances, vestments, and other artifacts of great artistic and artisanal value, offering insight into the religious life of the diocese.

The exhibition is designed to highlight the connection between art, history, and faith, allowing visitors to understand how sacred art was not merely an aesthetic expression but also a vehicle for popular devotion.
