Echoes of Sicily – Between Myth and Reality: Maria Lo Presti Solo Show

From 18 to 24 April 2026 Rome will host "Echoes of Sicily – Between Myth and Reality", a solo exhibition by Maria Lo Presti at ContArt Lab. Curated by Elisabetta La Rosa, the show presents a pictorial journey where Sicilian tradition is reframed through a contemporary sensibility, featuring archetypal symbols, evocative figures and a bold use of color.

Lo Presti's work is marked by allegorical language: color functions as the primary narrative device, conveying deep emotional and collective memories. The artist composes images where myth and reality converse, creating suspended atmospheres that invite an introspective and immersive viewing experience.

Why visit

  • Contemporary reinterpretation of Sicilian culture: folkloric symbols and legends reworked with a modern approach.
  • Strong chromatic impact: color as an emotional and narrative tool.
  • Dialogue between memory and imagination: works that blend historical references with personal visions.
