Free entry to state museums on Easter and special openings on Easter Monday

Sunday 5 April (Easter Day) coincides with the regular initiative offering free admission to numerous state museums, galleries, archaeological areas, villas, gardens, abbeys and monumental complexes across Rome and the Lazio region. Monday 6 April (Easter Monday) will see many institutions open with special hours, usually charging the standard admission fee.

Practical tips for your visit

Access rules differ by institution: some sites require advance booking while others admit visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Always check opening times, reservation requirements and visitor rules on the official page of the museum or the Ministry of Culture before you go.
