During the Easter weekend the historic centre of Carpi offers a chance to explore local heritage: the Palazzo dei Pio opens with special hours and free admission on the first Sunday of the month, while guided climbs of the Torre della Sagra return with limited slots.
The museum hosts an exhibition focused on culinary culture between the 15th and 16th centuries. The itinerary is organised into sections that examine the table, the kitchen and foodstuffs of the period, using artworks, objects and immersive installations.
The route is enhanced by emblematic historical figures presented virtually to guide visitors, a didactic approach that connects recipes and dining customs to their historical context. The exhibition blends history, art and culinary technique.
There are dedicated spaces and workshops for children: playful-educational activities where youngsters can try being little cooks, set a table, learn about shopping, and engage with interactive games and videos that promote sustainability and local traditions.
These local initiatives help promote the heritage of Italian borghi by combining cultural access with active territorial engagement: a meaningful way to experience Carpi's history and culinary traditions.
