Sartori Exhibition in Pieve del Grappa: a Cultural Success for the Territory

The exhibition “The Crespano abbot who changed the Pedemontana. A journey through the life and work of Monsignor Giovanni Battista Sartori” concluded with positive results at Palazzo Reale di Crespano, running from 25 October 2025 to 26 March 2026.

Organised by the Municipality of Pieve del Grappa in collaboration with the Parish of Crespano, the Canova Foundation and the Crespano Philharmonic Society, the event combined historical research, public outreach and territorial promotion.

  • Exhibition path: curated by Federico Piscopo, Loretta Genovese and Marco Baratto, the displays were praised for clarity and engagement.
  • Related events: conferences and talks featuring Tiziana Capovilla and Professor Giancarlo Cunial were held in landmark venues such as the Cathedral and Villa Canal.
  • Attendance: the exhibition attracted visitors from the Pedemontana area and neighbouring provinces, signalling strong local interest.
  • Commemoration: the show formed part of programmes for the 250th anniversary of Sartori's birth.

Monsignor Giovanni Battista Sartori, presented as a significant figure in the area's cultural development and closely linked to Antonio Canova, was highlighted for his role as patron and promoter of the arts. The programme fostered dialogue between local scholarship and the public, reinforcing community identity.

Mayor Annalisa Rampin voiced satisfaction with the outcome, emphasising the value of cultural projects that promote the territory and create a legacy for future initiatives.

The Sartori exhibition therefore stands as a replicable example of local heritage enhancement: a blend of research, participation and cultural tourism promotion in the Pedemontana.
