The photographic exhibition Edicole Sonore by Angelo Artuffo and Massimo Forchino was opened at the Public Relations Office of the Regional Council of Piedmont (via Arsenale 14/G, Turin). The project connects music with the declining world of newspaper kiosks.
The display brings 29 disused city kiosks back to life, turning them into stages for 44 musicians from the Turin scene. At the opening, institutional representatives and project partners took part; the photographers presented a behind-the-scenes video of the work and the event featured jazz performed by the duo Monica Fabbrini (voice) and Davide Liberti (double bass).
The exhibition is promoted by the Regional Council of Piedmont in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF), Jazz School and Museo Eikon. It celebrates the urban memory of newsstands, the contribution of local musicians and contemporary photographic practice.
Visitor tip: for group visits or guided tours contact the Public Relations Office in advance. The exhibition is relevant for those interested in urban regeneration, documentary photography and the local music scene.
