In Monte Rinaldo construction is progressing on the "CumaLab", an archeo-agro-natural laboratory and multifunctional center designed to enhance the La Cuma archaeological area. The project, funded under Commissarial Ordinance 137/2023, has a total budget of €1,607,000 and aims to provide improved services for residents and visitors.
The new facility will be located near a Roman sanctuary dating to the mid-2nd century BC, with design choices focused on continuity with the historical and environmental context, including controlled removal of the existing building and reuse of salvaged materials.
Authorities describe the intervention as a significant step in the regeneration and promotion of the area: collaboration among the Municipality, the Special Reconstruction Office and the Region is highlighted as essential for restoring internal areas.
Other works in Monte Rinaldo continue alongside CumaLab: the restoration of the Clock Tower, to host the future Museum of Local Identity (€300,000), and the refurbishment of the municipal cemetery (€293,000), both part of the broader regeneration program.
