Piedmont Regional Council: activities from April 6 to 10

Between April 6 and 10 the Piedmont Regional Council carried out site visits, hearings and committee meetings centered on culture, territorial development, safety and sustainability, addressing heritage projects and measures for local communities.

• Visit to the Reggia di Venaria: the Culture Committee inspected the palace and the Conservation and Restoration Centre, reviewing the plan for a new scientific hub at the former Lamarmora gallop area, funded by the Region with €2.5 million and expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
• Audience figures: the Reggia reported growing attendance, with more than 31,000 visitors during the Easter weekend, 567,000 total visits in 2025 and 285,000 since the start of the year.
• Cultural promotion: the Council president met Turin artist Simona Rodano to acknowledge her role in promoting Piedmontese culture; her teaching method is used in about 250 New York schools.
• Legislative process and consultations: the Budget Committee approved bill 133 and began examining bill 124 on safety and the installation of video-surveillance systems, with a public consultation open until April 30, 2026.
• Community cooperatives and energy communities: the Third Committee updated the registry rules for community cooperatives to include energy communities and widen access for local initiatives.
• Water resource training: Hydroaid presented free training activities for students and operators to promote water stewardship.

The week’s work highlights an integrated approach combining cultural heritage protection, applied research infrastructure and policies to strengthen social cohesion and local development.
