Milan Remembers: 178th anniversary of the Five Days

Between 18 and 22 March 2026 Milan presents a series of events to commemorate the Five Days of 1848: historical walks, guided visits to monuments, lectures, documentary exhibitions and family activities. Museums, archives and civic institutions join to highlight the city’s Risorgimento heritage.

  • 14–21 March — Documentary exhibition at the State Archives of Milan (via Senato 10) presenting original documents on the events, repression and memory-building around the Five Days.
  • 18–22 March — Guided tours of the restored Monument to the Five Days and special visits at the Museum of the Risorgimento (Palazzo Moriggia) led by Teulié cadets.
  • Exhibitions and talks on figures such as Contessa Clara Maffei; a podcast series and materials about Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso at Palazzo Reale.
