Milan Art Week 2026: the city lights up

When: 13–19 April 2026. Milan returns with the tenth edition of Milan Art Week, a week focused on contemporary art that spans museums, independent venues, parks and libraries across the city.

This edition offers a broad, varied program: more than 490 events organized by around 260 groups, including exhibitions, openings, site-specific installations, talks and public projects.

  • Ghost Track: site-specific interventions by the Civic Museums that enter into dialogue with historical collections (examples: works at the Museum of the Risorgimento, a sculpture by Maurizio Cattelan in the Egyptian section, installations at the Sforza Castle).
  • Art Night (18 April): evening openings from 19:30 to 22:30 with special visits and installations at venues such as Palazzo Reale, Museo del Novecento, PAC, GAM, MUDEC and the courtyards of the Sforza Castle.
  • Art for Tomorrow Talks (14 April, 17:00, Acquario Civico): a panel on the border between art and design featuring a keynote by Otobong Nkanga. Registration required (Eventbrite).
  • ArtLine: an outdoor contemporary art park with 20 site-specific monumental works; inauguration includes Octospider by Jeremy Deller.

Institutions also present guided tours, new displays and youth-focused initiatives. Notable highlights include projects at PAC, MUDEC, Museo del Novecento, Sforza Castle and the Natural History Museum.

Tickets and concessions: entry to the Civic Museums is free for Milan Museo Card holders. Several museums offer discounted cross-tickets when purchasing entry to multiple exhibitions; youth concessions (e.g. 2-for-1 offers for under-25s on specific days) are available in some venues.

Practical tips: check times and registration requirements for openings and talks (some require prior sign-up), book popular guided tours in advance, and consult official venue sites for updates on access and routes.
