The former Carmine Convent in Marsala hosts a solo exhibition by Francesca Genna, featuring a curated selection of works produced over the past decade. The show explores the interplay between humans and the natural world through experimental, material-focused practices.
Organized by the Ente Mostra di Pittura “Città di Marsala” and curated by Enrico Caruso, the exhibition brings together prints, paintings and artist books that emphasize the memory of matter and contemporary landscape shifts.
Genna’s practice focuses on traces and residues—marks left by plants, marine elements and time—realized with sustainable techniques that highlight texture, imprint and erosion. The works invite a contemplative reading of landscape transformation and environmental memory.
The exhibition is conceived in close dialogue with the convent’s architecture, where site-responsive works amplify the connection between space, material and narrative. It is an opportunity to encounter contemporary art that engages ecological themes through tactile and visual investigation.
Practical note: the show is suitable for contemporary art audiences and visitors interested in environmental art. Check opening hours and visitor information with the Ente Mostra di Pittura “Città di Marsala” before planning your visit.
