Saturn Terrace reopens at Palazzo Vecchio for Easter

For the Easter holidays the Musei Civici Fiorentini and Palazzo Medici Riccardi confirm regular openings and a programme of guided tours, family activities and themed workshops. The Saturn Terrace at Palazzo Vecchio is once again accessible after the winter break, with routes that highlight both permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.

What’s on at Palazzo Vecchio

From the first weekend of April visitors can join several experiences, including:

• Palace tours with exclusive access to the Camerino di Bianca Cappello.
• Living history route "Guidati da Giorgio Vasari" (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings).
• Family programmes: "Vita di corte" and "Favola della tartaruga con la vela".
• Workshop on the Scoppio del Carro on Easter Day and the light show "Lo scoppio del carro. The light spectacle of Florentine Easter" (Friday to Monday at 15:00).
• Multisensory visit "Squisita scoperta. The Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the chocolate route" (Thursday at 11:15; Friday to Monday at 16:30), produced in collaboration with Rivoire.

Palazzo Medici Riccardi and civic museums

Palazzo Medici Riccardi offers guided tours of the historic residence and the exhibition Firenze Déco. Atmospheres of the 1920s (Saturday and Sunday at 15:00). Other highlights include:

• Museo Novecento: adult tours (Saturday and Sunday at 15:00) and family activities (Saturday and Sunday at 16:30) for Georg Baselitz’s Avanti!; Friday and Monday afternoons also focus on the Ottone Rosai exhibition.
• Santa Maria Novella complex: guided visits to the basilica and convent masterpieces.
• Other sites: Cappella Brancacci at Santa Maria del Carmine, Museo Stefano Bardini and Mad-Murate Art District.

• Torre d'Arnolfo: 9:00–17:00
• Museo Novecento: 11:00–20:00
• Santa Maria Novella complex: reduced hours with some free-entry slots (check official updates)

Certain venues will be closed on Easter Sunday: Museo Stefano Bardini, Cappella Brancacci, Fondazione Salvatore Romano, Museo del ciclismo Gino Bartali and the Memorial of Deportations. Always verify current opening times before your visit.

Domenica Metropolitana

For April the regular Domenica Metropolitana—free access for residents of the Metropolitan City—has been moved from the first Sunday to 12 April to avoid overlap with Easter.
