Easter in Jesi: museums and special openings
For the Easter holiday Jesi offers a range of cultural activities for both locals and visitors. Several museums will be open and guided tours are scheduled in the historic centre during the long weekend.
Museums to visit
- Musei Civici di Palazzo Pianetti: Archaeological Section on the ground floor, the Civic Art Gallery on the piano nobile and the Contemporary Art Gallery on the second floor.
- Museo Federico II Stupor Mundi, featuring permanent displays on local history.
- Sale Museali di Palazzo Bisaccioni, hosting collections and temporary exhibitions.
- Diocesan Museum: additional opening on Monday, April 6 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Temporary exhibitions worth seeing
- La vie en Dondero (Betto Tesei Exhibition Rooms, Palazzo Pianetti): a selection of photographs retracing Mario Dondero's career. Free entry until April 12.
- What is the sky like in Palestine (Civic Art Gallery, piano nobile): a site-specific installation by Giovanni Gaggia featuring three tapestries produced through a community art workshop. On view until April 14. Ticket: €5 (includes access to the Civic Art Gallery).
- Francesco Trevisani. The rediscovered myth (Palazzo Bisaccioni exhibition rooms): five canvases by the 17th-century painter on display; last opportunity to visit until April 6. Free entry.
Guided tours and activities
Throughout the holiday weekend guided visits will be available, offering an easy way to explore Jesi's heritage:
- Tours of the G.B. Pergolesi Theatre and guided walks "Discovering the historic centre".
- Visits to the Torrione di Mezzogiorno.
- Guided visits to the Colocci Vespucci House Museum (approximate times: 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM; limited spots, booking recommended). Residents of Jesi may benefit from free entry to the House Museum on the first Sunday of the month with prior reservation.
