Marinella Senatore: solo exhibition at GNAMC

Period: 28 April – 31 December 2026

The National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome has dedicated a gallery room to Marinella Senatore, combining an exhibition with educational activities and participatory practices. The presentation aims to engage visitors, art students and local communities through both artworks and interactive programs.

Works on display

  • 32 drawings exploring movement, collective choreography and performative maps;
  • 5 drawings inspired by the Divine Comedy, executed in graphite and charcoal on acid-free paper;
  • 2 previously unseen collages from The Creation of a Context series, featuring gold leaf and texts developed in participatory workshops;
  • 4 monumental tapestries (about 300 x 200 cm each) from The Theatre of Commons, produced with a craft school in Mumbai;
  • A luminous sculpture (2021) incorporating LED bulbs and flex LED for an immersive effect.

Programme and visiting information

The dedicated room also operates as a hub for lectures, workshops and dialogues aimed at students (notably from the Rome Academy of Fine Arts), local communities and the general public. The project emphasizes participation and inclusion of groups often underrepresented in cultural institutions.

The exhibition opened on 28 April 2026 with the event "I contain multitudes," designed for students and including a somatic movement session.
