Cremona Contemporanea 2026: contemporary art across the city

Cremona Contemporanea returns for its fourth edition with a dispersed exhibition path that includes installations, shows, performances, meetings and events. The festival fosters a conversation between contemporary works and the city's historic spaces, revealing unexpected perspectives on the urban fabric.

Artistic direction and curators

Rossella Farinotti is the artistic director, supported by curators Valeria Mancinelli, Gioele Melandri, Gianluca Ranzi and Saverio Verini, who help shape a multilayered exhibition program.

Works range from sculptures using industrial components to environmental installations, videos, performances and participatory devices. Several pieces are newly commissioned for the city’s locations.

Venues and routes

The festival spans established venues and newly involved sites: key locations include Palazzo del Comune, Palazzo Vescovile and the Politecnico di Milano – Cremona campus. Additional sites include a bunker, the Corpus Domini monastery, hidden theatres and various churches reopened for the occasion.

Side projects and public program

The program features the Faville projects—exhibitions, talks, editorial initiatives and participatory installations—and the Progetti OFF section that brings in exhibitions and events by local institutions, galleries and businesses. Returning highlights include BAR Cremona, curated by Giorgio Galotti, with contributions by Diego Perrone and Daniele Milvio.
