Throughout May the park offers a varied program of outdoor activities to explore its landscapes and biodiversity: bike rides, long hikes, dune walks and science outreach events. Activities suit different fitness levels; many require advance booking.
Spergolaiata! (bike ride) — 3 May 2026, meeting at 9:00 (departure 9:15) in Grosseto near the Parco Alberto Sordi roundabout. About 23 km to Marina di Alberese, total duration ~6 hours, medium difficulty. Includes a guided visit to the historical photo exhibit at the Granaio lorenese. Bring your own bicycle and wear sports clothes. Fee: €10 (€5 for Fiab members). Reservation required: [email protected].
Fly me to the dune (dune walk) — 9 May 2026, meeting at 9:30 at Principina parking (North Gate). Easy 4 km walk, ~2.5 hours, focused on dune fauna with naturalist and photographer Giacomo Radi. Comfortable clothing recommended. Fee: €10 (reduced €5 for children 6–14 and students up to 25). Reservation required: [email protected].
Traversata dell’Uccellina (long trek) — 10 May 2026, meeting at 8:30 in Alberese (cars left in Alberese then transfer to Talamone). Approx. 20 km, ~10 hours, challenging terrain. Route visits Cannelle beach, Cala Salto del Cervo, altana delle Sugherine and San Rabano abbey. Trekking boots and packed lunch required. Fee: €25 (reduced €15 for students up to 25). Pollinator diversity (science walk) — 16 May 2026, meeting at 14:15 at the Alberese Visitor Centre. Easy ~10 km route along the medieval trail (itinerary A8), duration ~3.5 hours. Scientific talks by Prof. Carlo Polidori (University of Milan) and Dr. Andrea Ferrari (Free University of Bolzano) on wild bee monitoring. Fee: €10 (free for Park Friends). Salty blitz (citizen science) — 24 May 2026, 16:00–19:00. Public science event organized by the Natural History Museum of Maremma with the Park, featuring hands-on coastal monitoring activities. Register via: [email protected].
Practical tips: check meeting times, bring sufficient water, sun protection and suitable footwear. Advance reservation by email is required for all activities at [email protected]. Fees and reductions are those communicated by the organizers.
These events are a chance to experience coastal and hill environments, learn about local biodiversity and engage with on-site conservation research.
