The Magazzino del Sale Tower in Cervia presents an unprecedented exhibition dedicated to wind art: The Hague Air Gallery – Wind Painted, running from 4 April to 3 May 2026. This show acts as a preview to ARTEVENTO 2026 and displays a historic collection of painted kites from the Netherlands, restored and exhibited in Italy for the first time.
Curated by Caterina Capelli in collaboration with Holland Kite Team, the exhibition highlights a late-1980s initiative that treated kites as airborne canvases. The layout emphasizes environmental art practices where wind is the medium and the sky becomes a public gallery.
The exhibition preludes the main ARTEVENTO festival running from 23 April to 3 May 2026 across Pinarella beach and other city locations. The edition is themed "Brother Wind" and connects four central topics: 800 years since St. Francis's death, the 100th anniversary of Grazia Deledda's Nobel Prize, the 40th anniversary of the Emilia-Romagna–Ibaraki twinning, and a collaboration with contemporary circus arts.
We recommend checking opening times and any additional services through the official channels of the Magazzino del Sale or the festival organisers before your visit.
