The foyer of the Zambra Cinema Auditorium in Ortona hosts Valter Polleggioni's solo show titled "Liberamente tratti". The exhibition investigates the intersection of painting and theatre, using digital painting and high-end printing to reinterpret stage narratives visually.
Polleggioni's project highlights the meeting point between theatrical action and pictorial image. Some works preserve the original narrative of the referenced performance, while others use the theatrical text as a catalyst to generate entirely independent visual stories. The series evokes stage atmospheres with a vibrant, expressive line.
The exhibited works stem from a careful process of digital painting finalized through sophisticated printing systems. This method allows the artist to move beyond straightforward theatrical illustration, building a formal bridge between written text, theatrical action, and contemporary visual suggestion.
Born in 1957 in Ortona, Valter Polleggioni has been active locally since the 1980s. Initially trained and collaborating with established sculptors, he has experimented with materials and forms that balance warmth and calm curves with colder, more restless lines. His works have appeared in numerous solo and group exhibitions and are held in public and private collections nationally and abroad.
