The Voice of Nature: Gianni Mantovani solo exhibition

Opening: Friday 15 May 2026 at 17:00 at Orto Botanico UNIMORE, Viale Caduti in Guerra 127, Modena. The show is part of the Sustainable Development Festival programme.

"The Voice of Nature" brings together paintings by Gianni Mantovani (b.1950) that explore landscapes, flowers and natural motifs through essential forms and dreamlike memories. The recurring use of red backgrounds serves as a symbolic comment on global warming and accelerating climate change.

• Wednesday - Friday: 10:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 18:00 (last admission 17:30)
• Saturday: 10:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 19:00 (last admission 18:30)
• Venue: Orto Botanico UNIMORE, Viale Caduti in Guerra 127, Modena

The opening will feature remarks by the City Councillor for Culture of Modena, representatives of environmental associations (Legambiente - Circolo Angelo Vassallo, WWF Emilia Centrale) and art critic Mario Bertoni, who contributed the exhibition notes.

About the artist

Gianni Mantovani (b.1950), based in Concordia (MO), taught Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. His work has been shown in institutional venues and private galleries in Italy and internationally.
