The second edition of the Livio Scattolini Award took place in Corinaldo, celebrating towns that preserve and promote local cultural and historical heritage. Held at the Carlo Goldoni Theatre, the ceremony included regional representation and reflections on sustainable development in historic centres.
The prize honors Livio Scattolini, former mayor of Corinaldo for ten years and vice-president of the "I Borghi più belli d'Italia" Association, remembered for his work to improve services and modernize the promotion of local areas.
Winners were announced across four categories:
The municipality of Sassoferrato was among those recognized and included in the list of Italy's most beautiful villages. Organizers expressed the hope that the Award will become a regular reference point for territorial promotion and preservation.
There is also a practical opportunity for local operators: a regional call to support events, initiatives and activities in villages and historic centres, aimed at promoting typical products, local traditions and year-round tourism distribution. The call is open until 14 May 2026.
For those engaged in enhancing villages, participating in awards like the Livio Scattolini Prize and applying for regional funding can generate visibility, partnerships and resources for local revitalization projects.
