Francesco Vezzoli's "Nike Metafisica" joins the Museo di Santa Giulia collection

Museo di Santa Giulia in Brescia has officially acquired Nike Metafisica, a 2019 work by Francesco Vezzoli. The sculpture has been installed in the museum's Viridarium, a contemporary garden-sculpture area where it engages directly with archaeological remains and the museum environment.

The work reinterprets the classical iconography of the Winged Victory of Samothrace while incorporating references to 20th-century metaphysical painting, offering a contemporary reading of ancient models. The acquisition is part of the Palcoscenici archeologici project, created with the artist's contribution and supported by the Italian Council to strengthen ties between historical heritage and contemporary production.
