GAM of Golasecca: 40 years and official recognition

The GAM – Golasecca Multimedial Archaeology Museum celebrates its 40th anniversary and has been accredited within the Italian Museum System. Following a multimedia renewal in 2019 and regional recognition as a museum collection, the institution is launching initiatives aimed at the local community and schools to enhance its archaeological heritage.

Event schedule

  • May 17, 15:00 – Piazza Libertà: inauguration of the exhibition Rinascite and unveiling of a new display in the museum windows. The show traces history from Etruscan culture to the Roman era, highlighting finds from the Golasecca culture that illustrate craftsmanship and funerary practices.
  • May 19, 09:45 – Institutional visit by the President of the Lombardy Region, including the unveiling of three plaques acknowledging regional funding used for local upgrades (municipal building compliance, playground refurbishment, and nursery school improvements).

Public celebrations on May 17 and May 19 are open to citizens. Local authorities emphasize the educational value of the initiatives, developed in collaboration with the Center for Prehistoric and Archaeological Studies and the Superintendency.
