Italian Port Days 2026: Italy's port system opens to citizens and communities

Launched on the National Sea Day, the first phase of Italian Port Days 2026 runs through May and will resume in autumn. Coordinated by the national Port System Authorities, the initiative adopts the theme "Italy: Gateway to the Mediterranean — Dialogues between Harbours and Cities" to stress ports' role beyond logistics, as economic, social and cultural hubs.

• A nationwide programme with public events, guided tours and special openings of port areas.
• Activities aimed at students and young people, meetings with operators and stakeholders, and sessions on sustainability and innovation.
• Key dates include De Portibus in Ravenna (21–23 May), offering hands-on experiences of port life.
• The initiative seeks to strengthen port–city relations and present a unified vision of the sector at national and European levels.

Port authorities and industry representatives underline the opportunity to showcase how ports contribute to economic growth, employment and the transition to greener, more innovative practices.
