The 2026 programme of the Italian Port Days has officially started. Coordinated by the Authorities of the Italian Port System (AdSP), the initiative runs through May and will resume in autumn, offering a nationwide platform to strengthen relations between ports, cities and local communities.
This year's theme, "Italy Gateway to the Mediterranean: Dialogues between Harbours and Cities", highlights Italy's strategic role in the Mediterranean and promotes the idea of ports as hubs not only for logistics but also for innovation, sustainability and employment. All AdSPs will host a range of activities across the country.
Notable among the scheduled events is "De Portibus" in Ravenna (21–23 May), a participatory format designed to bring the public closer to port life. The Italian Port Days aim to be a European example of integrated dialogue between infrastructure and territory.
"Italian ports are not closed spaces but open places connected to communities and at the heart of major ongoing transformations," says Roberto Petri, President of Assoporti, stressing the need to spread maritime culture across local areas.
