Isabel Fargnoli is a Monegasque fashion designer with a strongly distinctive style that has taken shape in her collections and in the brand she founded in 2021.
Despite her French passport, Isabel carries Italy — and Naples — in her heart thanks to her Neapolitan origins.
From the very beginning, she wanted to give her collections something more, starting with a key theme such as sustainability and combining it with a signature element: Made in Italy.
In fact, the production of her garments takes place on the Amalfi Coast, a place Isabel is deeply in love with and which, together with the Côte d’Azur, has positively influenced her creative identity.
This year, after the annual Isabel Fargnoli fashion show, the Italian Embassy in Monaco, the Monegasque Chamber and the Mayor of the Principality awarded her the “Made in Italy” prize as recognition of creativity and talent in Monaco.
We spoke with her to explore this bond and to tell the story of her beautiful connection with Italy. Let’s welcome Isabel Fargnoli.

Isabel, as we mentioned, your passport is Monegasque, but your heart beats strongly for Naples and Italy thanks to your origins.
How do these two worlds — the elegance and refinement of the Principality on one side, and the Neapolitan energy on the other — coexist and merge within your personal and creative identity?
My identity has always been an encounter between two worlds that I consider complementary. On one side, Monaco represents elegance, balance and attention to detail; on the other, Naples embodies energy, human warmth and that instinctive creativity that doesn’t follow rules. In my work, these two souls coexist naturally: I always seek a balance between discipline and passion, between clean lines and more emotional details.

The Amalfi Coast and the Côte d’Azur may seem like places where people retreat to nourish the soul. This essence has entered your collections, and the Amalfi Coast has become the production hub of your brand.
What lies behind this choice, and how does it make your garments unique in terms of design and fabrics?
The Amalfi Coast and the Côte d’Azur share a beauty that feels almost suspended, capable of regenerating you. I chose the Amalfi Coast as my production hub because there I found not only exceptional craftsmanship, but also an authentic relationship with the territory. My garments are born from expert hands, from traditions passed down through generations, and this is reflected in the quality of the fabrics, the workmanship and the unique details. Every creation carries a story and a soul.

From the beginning, you decided to unite two concepts that are fundamental today: Made in Italy and sustainability.
What does true Made in Italy mean to you in today’s fashion landscape, and how do you balance ancient craftsmanship with the need for ethical production?
For me, true Made in Italy is first and foremost culture: it means know‑how, respect for production times, attention to detail and valuing people. Sustainability is not a trend — it is a responsibility. I try to balance tradition and innovation by collaborating with local artisans, using carefully selected materials and adopting conscious production processes. It’s a demanding path, but a necessary one.

This year you are once again a protagonist at Monte Carlo Fashion Week, during the day dedicated to Made in Italy.
What does it feel like to be an ambassador of Italian craftsmanship, and what responsibility comes with being a “bridge” between your country of birth and the country of your roots?
This year the feeling was even stronger: receiving an official recognition for Italian creativity and talent, right after my show, was unexpected and incredibly meaningful. It made me even more aware of the value of what I represent.
Being a bridge between Monaco and Italy is an important responsibility. It means respecting and enhancing both cultures, uniting the elegance and rigor of the Principality with the soul, warmth and artisanal expertise of Italy. In my work, I try every day to express this dialogue, giving voice to my roots and transforming them into contemporary creations.
It was a great honor to receive this award from our Italian Ambassador in Monaco as recognition of Made in Italy in the Principality.
The plaque celebrates Italian creativity and talent, and receiving it was truly magical.

After our show, the Ambassador announced the award as a surprise, making the moment even more emotional. The Mayor of the Principality was also present to hand it to me.
It was a special moment, shared with our audience of friends and clients, with my family and especially with my mother — my partner in this journey. She was the first to believe in me and in this project, and today she is the pillar of our brand. After five years of growth, seeing our work become increasingly significant is an immense satisfaction.

Your namesake brand, born in 2021, reflects your journey and already has a very defined identity. Looking ahead, how do you hope your relationship with Italy will continue to shape, influence or even transform the creative spirit of Isabel Fargnoli?
My journey began long before 2021. Together with Raffaella — my mother and partner — we dedicated years to research: from studying materials to defining production, to building the brand’s identity. The official launch in 2021 was only the visible beginning of a much deeper process.

Today we are still evolving, and that is what motivates me most. Thanks also to Raffaella’s vision — she is an interior designer — we have expanded our creative language: for three consecutive years we curated the branding of one of the most important and historic restaurants in Monte Carlo, bringing our aesthetic universe beyond fashion.
Looking to the future, my bond with Italy will continue to play a central role. It is an endless source of inspiration — not only aesthetically, but in terms of craftsmanship, culture and sensitivity. My wish is to keep evolving while maintaining this connection alive, transforming it into a contemporary language capable of expressing who I am today and who I will become.
