Exhibition on Maria Sklodowska‑Curie opens at SMSBiblio in Pisa

The travelling exhibition dedicated to Maria Sklodowska‑Curie was inaugurated on Monday 20 April at SMSBiblio in Pisa. The display is mounted on the library's first floor and will be on view until 20 May.

• Highlights: documents and exhibits on the 1918 scientific expedition, studies of natural radioactivity in thermal waters, fumaroles and rocks, and the screening of the short film "Maria Sklodowska‑Curie in Italy: in search of radium."
• Inauguration: attended by local and scientific representatives, including tourism councillor Paolo Pesciatini, education councillor Riccardo Buscemi, the Honorary Consul of Poland in Florence Stefano Barlacchi, Malgorzata Fijal of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and Lorenzo Di Bari from the University of Pisa.

Organised by the Polish Academy of Sciences, the exhibition highlights the scientist's ties with Italy and her research legacy, offering visitors insight into a chapter of the history of radioactivity and the interaction between scientific work and Italian locales.
