Giro d'Italia returns to Naples: Paestum–Naples on 14 May 2026

On 14 May 2026 the 6th stage of the 109th Giro d'Italia will run from the temples of Paestum to Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, combining sport with historical and artistic heritage over a 141 km course.

Key facts about the stage

• Total distance: 141 km, finishing with a sprint in front of the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola in Piazza del Plebiscito.
• Metropolitan area: 80 km fall within the Metropolitan City of Naples; the route crosses 27 municipalities.
• Infrastructure works: the Metropolitan City allocated 2.2 million euros for 110,000 m² of road works (resurfacing, signage, safety measures).

The race will be flanked by side events including GiroLand in Piazza Municipio and cultural activities by schools and local associations, offering an opportunity to showcase the territory and its cultural assets to a wide audience.
