Opening: Sunday 26 April 2026 at 16:00. Exhibition period: 26 April - 11 October 2026.
The E. Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art presents a temporary exhibition exploring the practice and philosophy of calligraphy in Chinese and Japanese traditions. Curated by Alberto de Simone and Emanuela Patella, and developed with CELSO - Institute of Oriental Studies, the show combines items from the museum's collection with works from CELSO and a selection of seals from the Seal Museum of La Spezia.
The route leads visitors from the origins of writing to the symbolic language embedded in East Asian aesthetics, highlighting calligraphy as an artistic, disciplined and meditative practice rather than merely a technique.
The exhibition is included in the museum admission ticket. For updated opening hours, visitor information and news, check the Musei di Genova website or the museum's official social channels.
