From 27 March to 29 June 2026, Rome presents a major solo exhibition dedicated to Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849), a leading figure of Ukiyo-e. The show, held at Palazzo Bonaparte (Nuovo Spazio Generali Valore Cultura, Piazza Venezia 5), brings together more than 200 works from the National Museum in Kraków and offers a full overview of the artist’s career, from traditional prints to his groundbreaking series.
This is the first large-scale Hokusai monograph held in Italy and an exceptional opportunity to explore the breadth of his output. The exhibition combines prints and cultural artifacts to provide contextual depth and a multifaceted portrait of the artist and his era.
To make the most of your visit, book tickets in advance and check the official site for guided tours or special programs. This exhibition is a rare chance to view masterpieces and rare items that showcase the legacy of one of Japan's most influential artists.
