Hikikomori and Digital Addiction: Rotary eClub 2060 launches “On Life Camp”, a Replicable Educational Model for Schools and Communities

On Life Camp is an initiative by Rotary eClub 2060 aimed at tackling hikikomori, social withdrawal and digital addiction among young people. The project is presented as an educational model intended for adoption and adaptation by schools and local community stakeholders.

The proposal focuses on preventive and supportive interventions to promote social reintegration and digital well‑being through structured pathways and practical activities.

• Target groups: students, families, teachers and local operators;
• Program elements: educational workshops, dialogue and peer support sessions, outdoor activities and initiatives to build digital resilience;
• Purpose: develop replicable practices to prevent isolation, foster relational skills and integrate efforts between schools and local services.

Presented as a replicable model, the project encourages schools, cultural organizations and social services to form local partnerships for pilot implementations. The approach emphasizes the value of networking among educational institutions and territorial actors to design targeted prevention and support actions.
