See Naples and Then Eat: 4th edition celebrates Neapolitan gastronomy

From 26 March to 3 May, the fourth edition of "See Naples and Then Eat" returns, promoted by the Municipality of Naples' Department of Tourism and Productive Activities. The festival combines cooking, cultural stories and music through talks, show cookings and concerts designed to tell the story of the city's culinary tradition.

• Programme: 20 events featuring storytelling, live culinary demonstrations and musical performances; 6 concerts in historic churches.
• Attendance: all events are free; reservation required on Eventbrite; concerts open until seats are filled.
• Main figures: anthropologist Marino Niola (scientific curator), Councillor Teresa Armato, Michelin-star chef Marco Caputi, Alessandro Condurro (L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele) and guests including Marisa Laurito.
• Venues: Monastery of Santa Chiara, Monastery of the Trentatré, Teatro Trianon Viviani, Lungomare Caracciolo (Circolo Rari Nantes, Circolo Canottieri), Santa Maria Regina Coeli complex, Borgo dei Vergini and other city sites.
• Gastronomic focus: experiential paths around signature dishes: babà, pizza marinara with anchovies, sartù di riso, spaghetti alle vongole fujute, pastiera, sfogliatella, polpo alla luciana, casatiello and many other traditional preparations.

Organised by the Associazione Santa Chiara Orchestra with Marino Niola as scientific curator, the 2026 edition frames food as a lens on Naples’ cultural identity: each dish prompts exploration of historic places and living traditions, linking culinary storytelling to the city’s monuments and neighbourhoods.
