Gorizia comes alive this spring

Spring in Gorizia brings a programme of cultural events: Borgo Castello and nearby streets host light projections, exhibitions and film-related activities for a broad audience. The season combines site-specific installations, creative residencies and urban routes that link historical memory with contemporary practices.

Videomapping at the Castle

During the Easter period the Castle of Gorizia features videomapping projections in the Corte dei Lanzi. The main schedule runs from 2 to 6 April, with evening shows from 20:30 to 22:00. Each night presents two multimedia performances of about 15 minutes, designed to blend imagery and sound with the castle's architecture. Admission to the projections is free.

Distributed exhibition: "The Matter Loop"

"The Matter Loop" is a distributed exhibition exploring reuse and sustainability through site-specific works. Installed across The Circle venues (via Rastello 91 and via Rastello 23), the show is open until 26 April and features artworks ranging from metal sculptures and textile reuse to creative reuse of electronic components. The exhibition emphasizes dialogue between contemporary art, local technical know-how and environmental responsibility.

Residencies and borderland innovation

As part of the territorial innovation programme, residencies and public talks take place at Casa Netural (via Rastello 19/21). Events on 9 and 23 April focus on social economy, co-creation and local development, with contributions from international practitioners. Participation is free upon online registration.

Cinema and cinematic walks

Kinoatelje presents a spring film cycle with urban walks departing from BorGo Cinema (via Rastello 57). The programme includes children's workshops, themed urban routes in Italian and Slovenian, and activities for families and adults that explore local cinema history and cross-border cultural ties.
