Giro d'Italia Next Gen 2026: Calabria in the spotlight

The stages of the Giro d'Italia Next Gen 2026 were officially presented in Cittadella, Catanzaro. The Under-23 race will start on 14 June in Reggio Calabria and finish on 21 June in L'Aquila. Calabria will host the first two stages and the start of the third, with the route crossing all five provincial territories.

Organisers emphasised the race as a promotional opportunity for the region: the Next Gen Giro serves as a showcase for tourism, local food and the Calabria Straordinaria brand, while offering a competitive platform for the next generation of cycling talents. Representatives from the Italian Cycling Federation and former riders highlighted the technical and developmental importance of the event for young athletes.
