Culture Commission gives favourable opinion to Lazio's 2026 Cultural Enhancement Plan

The Culture, Entertainment, Sport and Tourism Commission of the Lazio Regional Council gave a favourable opinion, by majority, on the draft resolution allocating approximately € 21,028,547.30 for cultural interventions in 2026.

Presented by Councillor Simona Renata Baldassarre, the Plan specifies beneficiaries and budget chapters and foresees allocations for 2027 and 2028, amounting to € 36,025,717.57 over the three-year period.

• Requalification and enhancement of tangible cultural heritage — works on museums, historic houses, archaeological sites and cultural venues (estimated ~€13 million).
• Support for regionally affiliated entities — contributions to foundations and cultural institutes (≈€1 million).
• Collaboration agreements — joint projects with public and private partners for site valorisation and bids (≈€150,000).
• Intangible cultural heritage — safeguarding dialects, traditions and local knowledge (≈€105,000).
• PNRR Culture — measures for villages, historic parks, digitalisation and training (≈€6 million).

The resolution will return to the Regional Government (Giunta) for final approval; the commission meeting took place on 11/05/2026.
