On 18 and 19 April 2026, Tuscany joins the International House-Museum Days, a worldwide initiative that contemporaneously opens the doors of houses, studios and residences once lived in by notable figures. In the region, 39 sites will participate, offering visits, talks and activities that reveal the personal and creative environments of important cultural figures.
Public bookings are open online until 15 April via the event’s official website. Access rules differ by venue: some offer free entry, others guided tours or pay-what-you-wish workshops. Check each site’s specific opening hours and booking requirements before planning your visit.
The days aim to promote the network of house-museums and make accessible the domestic and working spaces of artists, writers, scientists and collectors. The initiative fosters cultural exchange and offers new ways to explore local heritage.
These entries are a representative sample of participating sites. The full roster includes villas, studios, birthplaces and museums that together map a diverse cultural landscape across the region.
The event is promoted by a national and international network of house-museums with support from cultural bodies and sector organizations. Local partners and sponsors help deliver activities and improve public access to the collections.
Practical tip: reserve early, consult the official program for full listings and confirm opening times and any access restrictions before you go.
