International House Museums Days 2026: what to see in Florence and the province

The second edition of the International House Museums Days connects over 400 sites worldwide and more than 150 in Italy, including a significant number of openings and events in Florence and nearby towns. The initiative lets visitors explore homes, studios and small museums tied to prominent figures in arts, literature, science and history.

Key venues in Florence and the province taking part, with relevant practical information:

• Casa Museo di Franco e Lidia Luciani – Via Niccolò da Uzzano 11, Florence. Open: 18 and 19 April 2026. Free guided tour of the private collection of Macchiaioli paintings.
• Museo del Ciclismo Gino Bartali – Ponte a Ema, Via Chiantigiana 175, Florence. Open: 18 April 2026. Free admission and guided tours covering 150 years of cycling and Bartali's achievements.
• Studio of Piero Bargellini – Via delle Pinzochere 3, Florence. Open: 19 April 2026 (free guided tour at 17:00 led by family members; reservation required).
• Villa La Pietra (New York University) – Via Bolognese 120, Florence. Open: 18 April 2026. Guided tours in the morning and afternoon; reservation required; tours in Italian and English.
